I'm truely sorry for your loss. As I sit here and read your story my healthy 2 yr. little Justin is banging away on his drums. He too was born early,( 32 weeks) and had numerous problems at birth but I'm grateful that he is healthy now. Except for a serious bout of mononucleous at the tender age of 23 months, he's been real healthy, I pray for you, to give you the strength to continue the great work that you are doing. I wish I could be more help to your organization, but I'm fighting the battle of my life at the moment.

I just wanted to say that I'm sorry the loss of your little one and congratulations on the impending birth of this new one. I live in Chesapeake and I'm the mother of 4 boys. The middle one's are twins. They developed twin transfusion syndrome at the very end of my pregnancy (the last week or few days). I didn't realize until after they were born how dangerous this condition was. I carried them to term and there was no lasting effects from that condition. Nick (the twin who received all of the extra blood and fluids) was born beet red and swollen, but his body worked everything out in the first few days. Joe, on the other hand was pale and lethargic, but he was the bigger of the twins by a whole pound. He, too, was fine after a few days. Please feel free to write to me. Thank you for sharing your story. We got very lucky, ours were born at 33 weeks via emergency c-section. The only healh problem we have is a bit weak in the lungs and one is deaf in one ear. The NICU is something we will never forget. They were there for 31 days. The hardest part was the day we went in they were moving our boys to the isolation room because they were the most stable and they needed more beds. Later that night when we went back there were several beds empty. My heart went out to all those parents that day. Good luck on this pregnancy!

I lost my first child Dec. 25, 2001, he was a stillborn due to the cord wrapped around his neck. I wish I had things like this when I was in the hospital. All I got was the blankets he was wrapped in, his footprints, and several pictures all from the hospital. I wish there was a place like this in my area because I would be glad to support local mothers who lost children. You know we will forget them and they will always be in our hearts.

I lost my daughter back in 2002 i was 8 1/2 months and the cord got wrapped around her neck she was still born and they gave me her hat and a dress which i still have that was my first baby I had Doctor tell me there was NO WAY i could have children before i had her but I feel in my heart she is in a GREAT place .. I want to say that people who take time out and make the hats and the dresses are wonderful people and I thank you from the bottom of my heart I now have a lil boy who was born Dec 2003 I was scared to death my whole pregnancy but he is a health lil boy and i miss my first baby badly thanks again for all you do.

Although I have no children of my own (yet) I feel deeply for those who have lost a child in death. It is the hardest death to cope with. Parents should not have to face this.

What a wonderful thing to do - there is a similar group in our area - they make little angels for parents to take home after miscarriages, etc. I lost 3 pregnancies before my dd was born and it would have meant the world to me for someone to care enough to do this. It's hard to get something like this off the ground, but it is soooo worth your effort. Take care!

Dear Melanie, I was flipping thru the radio today and heard you speak on WPK(?)89.5 in NY today...like you- I had a loss and what you are doing is soo good. I would love to connect you with trisomy 18 support group (www.trisomy18support.org) because there are many of us that know our babies are going to die before they are born and boy, would I have loved to have gotten one of your specially made outfits for my daughter ...there is such a huge need for this. You spoke very well and my heart goes out to you as you reach out to other moms..that is Robby's legacy. If it is OK, I will post your website as a resource on the t-18 board. You are right, the medical people aren't comfortable with death, especially the death of a baby. You are going to change that. Good for you.I am working now in the area of perinatal hospice, because they didn't know what to do with me either. Listening to you was like hearing myself. Our babies mattered, and they are having an impact. God Bless.

I think this is the BEST way to pay tribute to Robby! My heart goes out to you & your family for the loss you've suffered...as well as all your trials and tribulations. I too have suffered child loss, in the form of a miscarriage. I would be due 5/18/04, but miscarried on 11/30/03 at 15 weeks pregnant. Much love & support to you & yours!
